| Chains
link the pinion gear for a drive motor to the drive shaft for the
first motor. The power is then transferred through another chain
to the drive shaft for the middle wheel, and from there to the final
shaft.

The drive
chains are located between an inner and an outer panel. The gear motor
and the bearings for the drive shafts are attached to the inner panel.
The wheel bearing collar is mounted on the outer panel along with
the corresponding bearing. Between the hub and the neck of the shaft,
there is an axial shaft seal to keep out moisture and dirt.
